I have been creating fine jewellery for many years now - both on a royalty basis for various companies and for my own collections. I graduated from Danmarks Designskole (The Academy of Design, Copenhagen) in 1986. As the Western markets are flooded by semi-manufacture and readymade jewellery, it is essential for me as a Scandinavian designer to demonstrate heritage, detail, function and quality. The Danish Jewellery Museum (who invited me to show my design in a seperate exhbition 2006) described my style like this: “Sunna Blædel is spinning threads off her Scandinavian heritage, and her design reflects contemporary trends in a most personal way” I am proud to represent the spirit of great danish designers I admire, such as Georg Jensen and Th. Bindesbøll. Their art is characterised by an “economy” which is independent of time. I try to tell a personal story in each and every piece of jewellery from my hand. My concept is a soft, organic touch which you will love on your skin. My design puts you in a position to create your very own jewellery style by a crosswise mixing of selected units from my collection in harmony with your needs and ideas. I am always busy with new creations, of course, but I am at any time prepared to supply "old" objects you may wish to complement your jewellery collection. I hope you will enjoy my slideshows. You may also glance at some of my references from Scandinavian media, such as Costume and Børsen (the "Financial Times" of Denmark). Prior to ordering, please read the general trade conditions. Send me an e-mail indicating page, series, and number. 8 weeks later your order will be ready to send. You may order your new jewellery in slighty oxidized Sterling silver 925, with or without gold plating (24carat). Please note that silver objects will oxidate, even under a thin cover of gold. And confer a vintage look - you will come to admire. This vintage look is underlined by my soft organic touch and design, as goldplated jewellery will look just like a piece of vintage jewellery, telling your personal story. In the event that you prefere solid 18carat gold, which will never change, please ask for the price. Below are some of my own favourite rings (I never leave my house without wearing both earrings and rings -I would feel undressed!) Your specific combination of units from my studio should emphasise your personality. But never dominate.
